the story of Waldhaus

Imagine this:

You close the door behind you and silence envelops you, present and inviting.
The smell of fresh paint.
The fresh feel of the smooth work table.
The generous light that streams in through the high studio window.
The softness of brushes.
The rough echo of your movements, the feeling of space around you.
Blank canvases and soft colors giving shape to thoughts.
Everything around you breathes peace and space.
You don't have to do anything except being present.

Here you can feel how the world takes a step back.
It invites you to slow down, breathe, feel.
Take a moment for silence and creation.
Fully absorb the healing power of art and minimalism.
Welcome to Waldhaus.

______________

Minimalist art studio
It started many years ago as a dream of a cute cabin in the woods, a quiet & creative retreat in a busy world (maybe someday, yes).

It became a beautiful studio in the Citadel of Diest, an old army barracks that was given a (temporary) purpose by (creative) entrepreneurs. I instantly fell in love with the oversized studio window, which provides the studio with plenty of beautiful daylight. It is surrounded by forest and city life, which makes it a very accessible and special place.

With great enthusiasm, I turned this space into a minimalist art studio. It is a place where my passions for design, minimalism and slow living come together. It was important to me, to create a workplace where I could experience a feeling of coming home. Without unnecessary stimuli, stripped of unnecessary ballast. So that stories and art can arise from peace and space.

Working here makes me feel closer to my authentic self than ever before. It is my happy place where peace and creativity meet. Where all my senses become aligned again while painting in slow art sessions.

Waldhaus is my safe haven in a noisy world. Maybe it can become yours too? Welcome!
