WALDHAUS magazine • No. 01
I create things thoughtfully, with great attention to detail and careful consideration.
I’ve actually always done this, but it took me a long time to understand and embrace it. To realize that this isn’t a flaw. That the time you take shows in the result. That, as the creator of a piece of work, you feel this—even if it’s on a subconscious level.
Waldhaus began as a deep longing for simplicity, for a retreat in the woods, a studio. A quiet place away from the hustle and bustle, to create and make things. It became a studio in an old citadel, but now it’s also becoming a place to read. This physical location is evolving into a world full of inspiration about how life can be lived off the beaten path of the rat race. Where “being constantly on” is neither a mark of prestige nor a status symbol.
A magazine is published four times a year. It’s about art and craftsmanship. About simplicity and beauty. About doing things differently: more calmly, more thoughtfully, more authentically.
*No trends. No tips. No rush. Just the things worth pausing to consider. From images born of my unquenchable desire for visual beauty. From words that flow from me when my head is too full.
The first issue will be published at the end of June. If you’d like to contribute, you’re more than welcome.*
